Meet buildclarity and Quartli.
A contractor who finally sees where the money goes. A freelancer who stops guessing what they owe.
A contractor's pain points — and what changes when the numbers finally make sense.
A self-employed individual who found exactly what they needed — and said so.
The Problem
The financial tools built for contractors were designed for accountants. The tax tools built for freelancers assume a simple return — no quarterly estimates, no self-employment tax, no pass-through income. I built tools for the people the standard software ignores.
Labor overruns, uncaptured overhead, and miscalculated markup quietly drain margin on every job. By the time the books close, it's too late to act.
Freelancers and 1099 contractors routinely underpay or overpay estimated taxes because there's no simple, accurate tool built for how they actually earn.
Revenue is steady, the schedule is full — but cash is always tight. The answer is usually in the overhead recovery rate. Most people who work for themselves never see it.

In Practice
Required Markup — Hidden in Plain Sight
"I ran a painting contractor's numbers through buildclarity and found what years of QuickBooks reports hadn't shown: a required markup of 66.7% and pricing that fell well short of it. Once you see that number, everything makes sense. The cash was disappearing because the jobs were never priced to keep it."

The Client
Commercial painting contractor — steady work, full schedule, consistently tight cash.
The Finding
Overhead recovery analysis revealed a required markup of 66.7%. Jobs had been priced below true cost for years.
The Outcome
The shortfall wasn't a slow season or a collections problem. It was a pricing problem — now visible, now fixable.
Founder
"The intersection of tax law, technology, and real business problems is what I've been mastering for years. I'm not watching from the sidelines. I'm building."
I'm a CPA, Enrolled Agent, and Certified Internal Auditor with deep hands-on tax and accounting experience. I built LNH Labs to create the tools I always wished existed for my clients — products born from years of watching real financial problems go unsolved.
Alongside LNH Labs, I run LNH CPA PLLC — a boutique accounting practice specializing in contractors and their complex tax situations.
My Approach
Building with AI in a regulated industry forces a question most builders skip: what happens when it's wrong? Tax and finance are not forgiving domains. Every tool I build includes a human review layer, defined escalation paths, and explicit boundaries on what the AI is and isn't authorized to do.
Every product starts with deep domain knowledge — not a technology looking for a problem. Real tax work informs every design decision.
I treat AI governance as a design constraint, not a compliance checkbox. Human oversight is built in from day one — not bolted on after the fact.
Both products are live, deployed, and in active use. I build with real users, learn from real feedback, and improve continuously.
